An induction is necessary if you have little or no climbing experience and wish to use the climbing walls unsupervised. The session requires a minimum of two people who must both be over the age of 18. All equipment is included in the cost except shoe hire. Advance booking is necessary by calling the centre on 01902 711186. A deposit of 50% is required to secure a booking. (non refundable)
The duration of an induction is scheduled for 1 hour. You will be signed off when your instructor is satisfied that you reach the required level of competency, therefore, additional sessions maybe required. Safety is of paramount importance.
During the induction you will be given a tour of the centre, briefed on safety procedures, taught basic climbing skills, shown how to belay correctly and given an explanation of the climbing grading system.
Permission to climb unsupervised will only be granted when the centre staff are satisfied that the required standards have been met.
